The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Australia offers funding for NDIS Supported Independent Living (SIL). SIL supports people with impairments to live freely in cohabitation settings. Depending on the necessary amount of assistance, there are many SIL support kinds or classifications.
Who is Supported Independent Living (SIL) for?
NDIS participants who require more support, such as those who require care during the night, round-the-clock assistance, one-on-one work from a support worker, or a substantial quantity of assistance during the day, are most suited for SIL.
Individuals with disabilities who live alone or in shared housing with other individuals can apply for SIL. It can provide you with the chance to be self-reliant, socialise, and enjoy life while getting the assistance you require.
Keep in mind that there are other support choices available through the NDIS if you live alone, and supported independent living is just one of them.
